Dr. Xu Shuai
Transient synovitis of the hip in four-year-old children is generally not serious, but it requires timely attention and proper management by parents. 1. Transient synovitis of the hip is the most common cause of acute hip pain in children aged 3 to 10 years, with the peak incidence occurring between 3 and 6 years of age. Therefore, it is relatively common for children of four years old to develop this condition. 2. Transient synovitis of the hip usually presents with pain in one hip joint or the groin area. Most affected children do not have fever or only exhibit mild fever; high fever is very rare. The condition generally resolves gradually with appropriate rest and treatment. 3. Parents should still remain vigilant and seek timely medical attention if the child develops signs of infection or if symptoms worsen, to initiate appropriate anti-infective treatment. Additionally, children's activities should be restricted and strenuous exercise avoided to facilitate recovery.
