Pain when bending fingers, inability to straighten after bending
Disease description:
My finger hurts when I bend it, and it becomes stiff and cannot straighten. What could be the cause?
Pain and difficulty in straightening the fingers when bending may mainly be caused by the following factors:
1. **Tenosynovitis**: Prolonged manual labor or frequent use of the fingers may lead to tenosynovitis, characterized by redness, swelling, pain, and limited mobility of the fingers. Treatment options include local heat application, massage, and appropriate medication.
2. **Arthritis**: Infection or inflammation of the joints may restrict finger joint movement, causing pain and stiffness. Treatments include medication and physical therapy.
3. **Trauma**: Injury may result in rupture of the extensor tendons of the fingers, leading to a deformity in which the fingers remain bent and cannot be straightened. Prompt medical evaluation is necessary, and tendon repair surgery may be required in some cases.
The exact cause should be determined through a comprehensive assessment of individual symptoms and medical examination results, followed by appropriate treatment measures.
