2. If excessive calculus has caused exposure of the tooth roots, the roots may become exposed to air after cleaning, leading to discomfort or pain. However, symptoms generally subside gradually within 1-2 weeks as the gums reattach.
3. If pain occurs in response to cold, hot, sour, or sweet stimuli after the cleaning, it might indicate the presence of dental caries, which requires timely filling and restoration.
