Disease description:

My grandmother has been experiencing frequent nausea and vomiting recently, but she hasn't caught a cold or been chilled. Tests revealed she has a hepatic hemangioma. May I ask what are the symptoms of hepatic hemangioma?

The clinical manifestations of hepatic hemangiomas vary depending on the tumor's size, location, and individual differences. Generally, when the hemangioma is smaller than 5 centimeters, patients typically do not exhibit obvious symptoms. When the hemangioma gradually grows larger than 5 centimeters, a series of symptoms may appear. These include: 1. Abdominal discomfort or pain: The hemangioma may compress surrounding tissues, causing discomfort or pain in the upper abdomen, particularly more evident in the right upper quadrant. 2. Abdominal mass: When the hemangioma is large, a mass can be palpated in the abdomen, with a smooth or irregular surface; vascular murmurs may sometimes be heard. 3. Gastrointestinal symptoms: Symptoms of indigestion such as loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, belching, and postprandial fullness may occur due to compression of the gastrointestinal tract by the hemangioma. 4. Jaundice: When the hemangioma compresses the bile ducts, jaundice may develop, presenting as yellowing of the skin and sclera. It should be noted that these symptoms are not unique to hepatic hemangiomas. If any of these symptoms occur, timely medical consultation is necessary for accurate diagnosis.
