Does the contrast imaging examination cause pain?

Disease description:

I’ve been trying to conceive for several months, but I’ve consistently failed to get a positive result on ovulation tests during my fertile window. I visited the hospital for evaluation, and my doctor recommended a hysterosalpingography (HSG) to check whether my fallopian tubes are blocked. I’d like to know: Is HSG painful?

Hello, if a woman experiences prolonged difficulty conceiving, relevant diagnostic tests are recommended. Clinically, hysterosalpingography (HSG) is commonly advised. While HSG does have some impact on a woman’s body and may cause mild discomfort or pain, the pain associated with this procedure is generally well-tolerated and manageable—so there’s no need for excessive concern. We hope this information is helpful to you. Wishing you a happy and healthy life!
