The symptoms of carditis are diverse, mainly manifested as upper abdominal pain, which may be persistent, sharp, or dull, and may worsen during meals. Patients often experience heartburn, similar to acid reflux or a burning sensation, and may also have nausea and vomiting, especially after eating, caused by stomach acid flowing back into the esophagus. In addition, carditis can lead to loss of appetite, gastric distension, and a feeling of fullness, resulting from delayed gastric emptying causing gas accumulation. Besides the aforementioned symptoms, patients may also experience difficulty swallowing, belching, hiccups, headache, fatigue, coughing, and hoarseness. If these symptoms occur, it is recommended to seek medical attention promptly for diagnosis and formulation of an effective treatment plan by a physician.
