What are the early symptoms of leukemia?
Disease description:
My friend has been looking pale recently, and a few days ago she cut her hand, which has not healed until now. She went to the hospital for a checkup and was told it might be a precursor to leukemia. I would like to know what the early symptoms of leukemia are.
The early symptoms of leukemia mainly include the following:
1. Anemia: Paleness, fatigue, palpitations, and chest tightness. About half of patients experience these symptoms, which gradually worsen as the disease progresses.
2. Fever: Approximately half of patients develop fever, which can be either low-grade or high-grade. High fever may be accompanied by secondary infections, such as pulmonary infections.
3. Bleeding: Manifested as pinpoint skin or mucosal bleeding spots, or nosebleeds and gum bleeding.
4. Enlarged lymph nodes: Commonly found in areas such as the neck, armpits, and groin, especially in acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
5. Bone and joint pain: The pain may occur in variable locations and can be quite severe.
Not all symptoms mentioned above may appear, but their presence should raise suspicion of leukemia, and prompt medical attention is advised.
