Hematuria is not necessarily an early symptom of kidney cancer. 1. **Non-specific symptoms in early kidney cancer**: Early-stage kidney cancer usually does not cause symptoms, as the kidneys are located deep within the body and tumors typically do not cause noticeable symptoms until they reach a significant size. 2. **Occurrence of hematuria**: Hematuria is more commonly seen in advanced kidney cancer. When the tumor grows significantly and invades the collecting system or renal pelvis, it may cause local mucosal damage, leading to gross hematuria. 3. **Other causes of hematuria**: Hematuria can also result from other conditions such as cystitis, pyelonephritis, or kidney stones. Therefore, hematuria alone cannot be used to diagnose kidney cancer. Prompt medical attention is necessary when hematuria occurs. Diagnosis should be made based on additional tests and clinical findings.
