What are the common causes of gastric bleeding?
Disease description:
A classmate was hospitalized yesterday for stomach bleeding. He usually looks very healthy. What are the common causes of stomach bleeding?
Common causes of gastrointestinal bleeding mainly include:
1. Peptic ulcers: such as gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers, which may cause rupture of blood vessels at the base of the ulcer, leading to bleeding.
2. Rupture of esophageal-gastric varices: commonly seen in patients with severe liver disease or cirrhosis. These conditions may lead to esophageal-gastric varices, which can rupture and bleed when pressure increases.
3. Unhealthy lifestyle habits and drug irritation: long-term heavy alcohol consumption, overeating, excessive fatigue, emotional stress, and long-term use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g., aspirin) can all damage the gastric mucosa and lead to gastrointestinal bleeding.
4. Acute erosive hemorrhagic gastritis: often occurs after heavy alcohol consumption or under severe stress conditions such as infection, trauma, or surgery. These factors may cause gastric mucosal erosion and bleeding.
5. Gastric tumors: such as gastric cancer. During tumor growth, ischemia, necrosis, and ulceration may occur, leading to bleeding.
6. Other factors: such as Mallory-Weiss tears (esophageal-gastric junction mucosal tears), biliary tract bleeding, and rupture of pancreatic abscesses may also cause gastrointestinal bleeding.
