How to treat heat rash in adults
Disease description:
I used to think that heat rash only occurs in children. However, recently I found myself developing heat rash even though I'm an adult. They started appearing on my arms and thighs. How should adults treat heat rash?
The treatment methods for heat rash in adults mainly include:
1. Environmental adjustment: Keep the indoor environment ventilated and cool. Use air conditioners or fans to lower room temperature and reduce sweating, which helps alleviate heat rash.
2. Skin care: Bathe frequently, using lukewarm water and mild cleansers to clean the skin, especially in skin folds. After gently drying the skin, apply an appropriate amount of talcum powder or calamine lotion to keep the skin dry.
3. Medication: If symptoms are severe, topical cooling and anti-itch medications such as calamine lotion or talcum powder may be used. As directed by a physician, corticosteroid creams such as hydrocortisone cream may also be used for anti-inflammatory treatment. For patients with significant itching, oral antihistamines such as loratadine can be taken to relieve symptoms.
4. Clothing adjustment: Wear loose, breathable, soft cotton clothing. Avoid tight-fitting or synthetic fiber garments to reduce skin friction and irritation.
