How long does it take for symptoms of tuberculosis to appear?
Disease description:
I'm worried that I might have been infected with tuberculosis, but I haven't experienced any symptoms yet. How long does it take for tuberculosis symptoms to appear?

The time it takes for symptoms of pulmonary tuberculosis to appear varies among individuals, but generally, there is an incubation period of 4-8 weeks after infection. After this incubation period, patients may gradually develop symptoms such as cough, sputum production, blood-tinged sputum, afternoon fever, fatigue, night sweats, and weight loss. The exact time of symptom onset depends on multiple factors, including the virulence of the Mycobacterium tuberculosis strain, the patient's immune status, and the quantity of infection. If the Mycobacterium tuberculosis strain is highly virulent and the patient's immunity is weak, obvious symptoms may appear shortly after the incubation period. Conversely, if the patient's immunity is strong or the number of infected Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria is low, symptoms may not appear, or their onset may be delayed.
Please note that if you experience symptoms suggestive of tuberculosis, you should seek medical attention promptly for diagnosis and treatment.
