Pregnant women can eat pistachios, but should do so in moderation. Pistachios are a nutritious nut containing abundant protein, vitamins (such as vitamin E and vitamin B6), minerals (such as potassium, phosphorus, zinc), and unsaturated fatty acids. These nutrients have positive effects on the health of both the pregnant woman and the fetus, including enhancing immunity, preventing constipation, protecting cells from oxidative damage, maintaining healthy skin and eyes, and supporting the fetal brain and nervous system development. However, pistachios are also relatively high in calories and fat. Excessive consumption may lead to rapid weight gain or digestive issues in pregnant women. Therefore, it is recommended that pregnant women consume pistachios in moderation. Generally, it is advised that daily intake should not exceed a small handful (about 10–15 pistachios) to avoid adverse effects on health.
