How to Differentiate Breast Cancer from Breast Nodules
Disease description:
I have breast nodules myself and am very afraid that they might turn into breast cancer. I would like to ask the doctor how to differentiate between breast cancer and breast nodules?
Breast cancer and breast nodules are two different types of breast diseases, and their main differences are as follows:
1. **Nature**: Breast cancer is a malignant tumor of the breast with invasiveness and the potential to metastasize to other parts of the body. Breast nodules, however, are usually benign and generally do not spread to other areas.
2. **Symptoms**: Early-stage breast cancer may not cause obvious pain, but may present with symptoms such as breast lumps, skin indentation, nipple retraction, erosion, and asymmetry. Symptoms of breast nodules include breast lumps, tenderness upon touch, and hardened skin, but are usually not accompanied by other symptoms.
3. **Treatment**: Treatment options for breast cancer include surgical removal, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, endocrine therapy, and others. For benign breast nodules, if they do not cause discomfort or affect daily life, special treatment is generally not required.
