Disease description:

I've recently heard a lot about women needing to receive the 9-valent vaccine, which can prevent HPV, as well as other related examinations. I'd like to ask the doctor: What is an HPV test?

HPV testing refers to the detection of human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, primarily aimed at determining whether the body has been infected with HPV. There are various methods for HPV testing, including exfoliative cytology, histopathological examination, and DNA testing. 1. Exfoliative cytology: Vaginal or cervical secretions are collected and stained, then examined under a microscope. If koilocytes are observed, HPV infection can be confirmed. 2. Histopathological examination: If warts appear on the vulva, cervix, or other areas, they may indicate genital warts. After surgical removal of the warts, histopathological examination is performed. If koilocytes are identified in the tissue sample, the diagnosis of HPV infection causing genital warts can be confirmed. 3. DNA testing: Chromosomal testing is performed on samples from warts, vaginal secretions, or cervical secretions to detect the presence of HPV virus, thereby confirming HPV infection.
