How to treat miliaria in adults
Disease description:
Recently, I developed many small bumps on my body, and my doctor said they are heat rash (prickly heat). How should heat rash be treated in adults?
1. For adults with heat rash, it is important to keep the skin clean and dry. Use lukewarm water to cleanse the skin and wear loose, breathable cotton clothing to reduce sweat retention.
2. Improve the environment by maintaining a comfortable indoor temperature, ensuring regular ventilation, and lowering skin temperature.
3. Regarding medication, topical cooling and anti-itch agents such as calamine lotion or talcum powder can be used to relieve itching and promote resolution of the rash.
4. If symptoms are severe, corticosteroid creams such as hydrocortisone butyrate cream may be used under medical supervision, or oral antihistamines such as loratadine may be taken.
5. A balanced diet is also important. Avoid spicy and irritating foods and consume more fresh fruits and vegetables to support healthy skin.
