Can myopia be cured?
Disease description:
I am 27 years old this year. Recently, I noticed that my vision has become slightly blurry. I went to the hospital for a refraction test, and the doctor told me that I have mild myopia. May I ask, is it possible to cure myopia?

Myopia, also known as nearsightedness or short-sightedness, cannot be completely cured, but it can be effectively managed and corrected through various methods, allowing patients to see distant objects clearly.
1. Eyeglasses and contact lenses: These are the most common corrective measures, working by altering the angle of light refraction entering the eye to help focus images correctly on the retina.
2. Laser vision correction surgery: Such as laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) and photorefractive keratectomy (PRK), reshapes the cornea to adjust its optical properties, significantly reducing or even eliminating myopia. However, not everyone is a suitable candidate for these procedures.
3. Lens implantation surgery: For patients unsuitable for laser surgery, artificial lens implantation may be considered to improve vision.
It is important to note that regular eye examinations and following medical advice are crucial for preventing the progression of myopia. Additionally, maintaining good eye habits, such as taking regular breaks, avoiding prolonged screen time, and engaging in sufficient outdoor activities, can help slow the progression of myopia.
