Symptoms of Retinal Detachment
Disease description:
I'm not sure if I have a detached retina, but recently my eyes have often experienced flashes of light. I'd like to ask the doctor: what are the symptoms of retinal detachment?
Retinal detachment is an ophthalmic emergency, and its symptoms may include:
1. Flashing lights: Seeing sudden flashes of light, especially in the dark, which may indicate that the retina is being pulled.
2. Increased floaters: Black spots, lines, or web-like objects appearing in the visual field, which may be floaters caused by retinal detachment.
3. Partial vision loss: A shadow or curtain-like obstruction gradually spreading from the peripheral vision toward the center.
4. Vision loss: Sudden blurred vision or significant vision decline.
5. Eye pain: Although retinal detachment itself is usually painless, there may be a mild sensation of pressure or discomfort in the eye.
6. Distorted vision: Objects appear warped or lines seem bent.
Note that if these symptoms occur, immediate medical attention is required.
