Can young men develop benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)?
Recently, I have been experiencing some difficulties with urination, and I'm quite worried it might be due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). I would like to ask, can young men develop BPH?
Young men can also develop benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Although BPH is relatively uncommon in younger individuals, it is still possible. Symptoms include frequent urination, urgency, increased nighttime urination, incomplete bladder emptying, or difficulty urinating.
If young men have long-term habits such as excessive alcohol consumption, smoking, holding urine, eating spicy or irritating foods, or have unhealthy lifestyle practices (such as staying up late and experiencing high stress levels), hormonal imbalances or fluctuations may lead to prostate tissue proliferation. This may trigger urinary discomfort and symptoms such as lower abdominal pressure or distension.
Therefore, young people should maintain healthy lifestyle and dietary habits, and practice regular sexual activity to reduce stimulation to the prostate tissue.
