Foods that commonly trigger acne mainly include: 1. **Heat-producing foods**: Heaty fruits such as durian, lychee, and longan, as well as heaty vegetables like chili peppers, leeks, and onions. These foods may cause internal heat accumulation, thereby triggering acne. 2. **High-sugar foods**: Excessive intake of high-sugar foods such as chocolate and ice cream can increase sebaceous gland secretion, leading to clogged pores and consequently causing acne. 3. **Greasy and spicy foods**: Greasy foods such as cakes, fatty meats, and fried chicken, along with pungent seasonings such as chili sauce and broad bean paste, may stimulate the skin and promote the formation of acne. Additionally, acne development is also related to multiple factors including endocrine changes, immune responses, abnormal keratinization of the sebaceous gland ducts, and microbial infections. Therefore, it is advisable to maintain a light and balanced diet, drink plenty of water, and avoid excessive consumption of the aforementioned acne-triggering foods.
