Photorejuvenation is a non-invasive skin beautification technique primarily used to improve skin texture, reduce pigmentation, and diminish fine lines. However, like any medical or aesthetic treatment, it may also have some side effects: 1. Skin burns: Photorejuvenation mainly involves the use of intense pulsed light for skin beautification treatments. Skin burns may occur if the procedure is improperly performed by the physician. 2. Skin sensitivity: For individuals with sensitive skin, photorejuvenation treatment may damage the skin's stratum corneum, compromising its protective barrier and potentially causing sensitivity, redness, itching, or peeling. 3. Melanin deposition: Following photorejuvenation treatment, inadequate sun protection and improper local skin care may easily lead to melanin deposition. 4. Redness and bruising: After treatment, the skin may temporarily exhibit redness or bruising, which is a normal reaction and typically resolves on its own within a few days. 5. Dryness and peeling: The treated area may experience dryness for a period of time, sometimes accompanied by mild peeling, which is part of the skin renewal process. 6. Risk of infection: Improper post-treatment care may lead to infection due to minor skin injuries.
