Etiology of Knee Synovitis
Disease description:
I really enjoy sports, such as playing basketball. A few days ago, I experienced knee joint pain and went for an examination, where I was diagnosed with knee synovitis. I would like to know the causes of knee synovitis.

Knee synovitis refers to inflammation of the synovial tissue within the knee joint. The following are some common causes of synovitis:
1. Trauma or injury: Sprains, impacts, or overuse may damage the synovium and trigger inflammation.
2. Arthritis: Conditions such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis can irritate the synovium and cause inflammation.
3. Infection: Bacterial or viral infections (e.g., tuberculosis, bacterial arthritis) can spread to the joint, leading to synovitis.
4. Crystal-related diseases: Uric acid crystals (gout) or calcium deposits (pseudogout) can also irritate the synovium, causing inflammation.
If knee swelling, pain, or restricted movement occurs, it is recommended to seek medical attention promptly to prevent worsening of the condition.
