Dr. Xu Shuai
Pain in the groin area can have multiple causes, including but not limited to: 1. Muscle strain or overuse: Excessive exercise or improper activities may cause strain in the quadriceps, gluteal muscles, or other related muscles, leading to pain. 2. Hip joint problems: Conditions such as hip arthritis, bursitis, or avascular necrosis of the femoral head can cause pain in the groin area, especially during walking or weight-bearing. 3. Sciatica: Conditions such as lumbar disc herniation or spinal stenosis may compress the sciatic nerve, causing radiating pain from the lower back down the back of the thigh to the heel. 4. Femoral neck fracture: Trauma may lead to a fracture of the femoral neck, especially in elderly individuals, as osteoporosis can increase the risk of fractures. If the pain persists or worsens, seek medical attention promptly.
