Causes of Motion Sickness
Disease description:
I find that I get carsick very easily, so I don't really enjoy riding in cars. I was wondering, what are the causes of motion sickness?

The main causes of motion sickness include the following:
1. **Genetic factors**: Motion sickness has a certain hereditary tendency. Individuals with family members who experience motion sickness are more likely to suffer from it themselves.
2. **Visual factors**: During travel, if there is a mismatch between visual input and vestibular sensation (i.e., the body's sense of movement), motion sickness may occur.
3. **Individual physical condition**: Conditions such as emotional stress, lack of sleep, excessive fatigue, or physical weakness may increase the risk of motion sickness. Additionally, illnesses such as the common cold or respiratory infections can affect the inner ear's balance system and lead to motion sickness.
4. **Neurotransmitter and eardrum changes**: Abnormal secretion of neurotransmitters or changes in eardrum thickness can result in asynchronous or asymmetrical transmission of external signals to the ear, which may also trigger motion sickness.
