What should I do if my ear is inflamed?
Disease description:
My ears have been hurting badly these two days. After an examination, I found out that my ears are inflamed. I would like to know, what should I do if my ears are inflamed?

When the ear becomes inflamed, the following measures can be taken:
1. General treatment: Keep the ear dry, avoid water entering the ear canal, and avoid frequently cleaning the ears.
2. Cleaning the ear canal: If there is mild discharge, the ear canal can be cleaned with 3% hydrogen peroxide solution or normal saline to maintain cleanliness.
3. Medication: According to the condition and under a doctor's guidance, antibiotic medications such as levofloxacin hydrochloride ear drops or cefuroxime axetil tablets may be used to control inflammation.
4. Surgical treatment: If the inflammation is severe or accompanied by complications such as a perforated eardrum, surgical intervention such as tympanoplasty (eardrum repair) may be required.
5. Daily care: Maintain a light diet, avoid spicy or irritating foods, ensure adequate sleep, and avoid excessive fatigue.
If symptoms of ear inflammation persist or worsen, prompt medical attention should be sought.
