Manifestations of Dampness-Toxin
Disease description:
I've had a lot of small papules on my body these days, and I suspect it might be damp toxicity (shī dú). I'd like to ask the doctor, what are the manifestations of damp toxicity?
The common symptoms of dampness and toxicity usually include bad breath, skin itching, and body fatigue:
1. **Bad Breath**: When excessive dampness and toxicity accumulate in the body, they can lead to various oral problems, such as mouth ulcers and tooth decay. Dampness and toxicity in the body can also affect the digestive system, resulting in unpleasant breath and even severe halitosis.
2. **Skin Itching**: The skin is an organ responsible for perspiration, and both sweat glands and sebaceous glands can expel waste from the body through the skin. However, if dampness and toxicity are present internally, they may affect the endocrine system, impairing the skin's ability to sweat properly. As a result, toxins can accumulate in the skin, leading to various skin problems such as eczema and dermatitis.
3. **Body Fatigue**: When dampness and toxicity accumulate in the body without being expelled, they can affect the functions of multiple internal organs, making the body feel heavy and tired. Individuals often experience persistent fatigue and a constant feeling of sleepiness.
