Doctor's answer (1)
Dr. He Haochen

Liuwei Dihuang Wan is a classic traditional Chinese medicine formula. The following are groups of people for whom Liuwei Dihuang Wan is not suitable:

1. Individuals with Yang deficiency constitution: If the body exhibits symptoms such as cold intolerance, cold hands and feet, frequent and excessive urination, this indicates insufficient Yang energy. Liuwei Dihuang Wan tends to nourish Yin and may worsen Yang deficiency.

2. Individuals with weak spleen and stomach: Those with weak digestive function may experience indigestion. Liuwei Dihuang Wan has a rich and greasy nature, which may burden the spleen and stomach and affect digestion and absorption.

3. Individuals with excessive dampness: For those with excessive internal dampness, using Liuwei Dihuang Wan may make it more difficult to eliminate dampness. It is advisable to first address the dampness condition.

4. Individuals with cold or fever: During a cold, the body needs to expel external pathogens, but Liuwei Dihuang Wan has a consolidating effect that may hinder the elimination of pathogenic factors.

5. Individuals with kidney Yang deficiency: If kidney deficiency presents symptoms such as frequent urination, nocturnal urination, impotence, or premature ejaculation, this indicates kidney Yang deficiency. Liuwei Dihuang Wan is not appropriate in such cases, and warming and tonifying kidney Yang medicines should be used instead.
