Normally, a healthy person's lungs do not have nodules. Pulmonary nodules refer to round or oval lesions within the lung tissue with a diameter less than 3 centimeters. Possible causes include lung infections, lung diseases, granulomatous diseases, pulmonary vascular diseases, and secondary metastasis. Many of these causes are related to previous lung damage or lesions that formed nodules during the healing or calcification process. Although pulmonary nodules are not necessarily malignant, some may represent early signs of malignant tumors. Therefore, once a pulmonary nodule is detected, timely medical consultation is necessary for further examination and treatment to determine the nature of the nodule and implement appropriate therapeutic measures.
