The most common types of pediatric brain tumors mainly include medulloblastoma and cerebellar astrocytoma.
1. Medulloblastoma is one of the most malignant tumors of the central nervous system. It grows very rapidly, is difficult to completely remove surgically, and tends to spread along the cerebrospinal fluid pathways, making treatment extremely challenging.
2. Cerebellar astrocytoma may present with involvement of one side of the cerebellum and can spread to the midline and the fourth ventricle, causing symptoms such as hydrocephalus.
