Can neurosis be cured?
Disease description:
I may be getting older, and my nerves are somewhat weakened. During a physical examination, I discovered that I have developed neurasthenia. I would like to ask the doctor: can neurasthenia be cured?
Neurosis can generally be cured in most cases, but the duration and methods of treatment vary depending on individual differences. Treatment mainly involves a comprehensive approach including general management, psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy, and physical therapy.
1. General management: Adjust lifestyle habits, maintain regular作息 (作息 should be "作息" in Chinese, meaning rest and work patterns), engage appropriately in labor and recreational activities, follow a diet primarily consisting of easily digestible foods, and avoid irritating foods.
2. Psychotherapy: Through psychological counseling, cognitive therapy, Morita therapy, behavioral therapy, and other approaches, patients can be helped to relieve tension, correct maladaptive behaviors, and build self-confidence.
3. Pharmacotherapy: Under a doctor's guidance, medications such as sedatives, anticholinergics, and vitamin B6 may be used to alleviate symptoms and promote recovery.
4. Physical therapy: Techniques such as transcranial magnetic stimulation and biofeedback therapy can be employed as adjunctive treatment modalities.
