What are the symptoms of pharyngitis?
Disease description:
Recently, there has been an unexplained irritation and significant pain in my throat. Could it be pharyngitis? Doctor, what are the symptoms of pharyngitis?

The symptoms of pharyngitis mainly include local and systemic symptoms.
1. Local symptoms: The main manifestation is sore throat. Initially, the pain may occur on one side and later develop to the opposite side. Swallowing or coughing may worsen the throat pain, potentially even leading to difficulty swallowing. Pharyngitis may also cause dry throat, foreign body sensation, referred ear pain, and tonsillar swelling. If the inflammation spreads to the nasopharynx and affects the Eustachian tube, symptoms such as ear fullness, tinnitus, ear pain, and sometimes hearing loss may occur.
2. Systemic symptoms: Patients may experience fever, headache, muscle aches, poor appetite, fatigue, and generalized weakness, along with back and limb pain. Some patients may also have chills and high fever, typically lasting 3-5 days with body temperatures reaching approximately 40°C.
If you experience any of these symptoms, please seek timely medical attention and follow the treatment recommendations of qualified healthcare professionals.
