How are age spots formed?
Disease description:
I feel that I have developed age spots on my face, which are not very aesthetically pleasing. I would like to ask the doctor, how are age spots formed?

Senile spots, also known as seborrheic keratosis, are common manifestations of skin aging. Possible causes of senile spot formation:
1. Endocrine disorders: Endocrine imbalances can also lead to the formation of senile spots. When the body's endocrine system is out of balance, pigment secretion may become abnormal. For example, if the liver and gallbladder metabolic functions are impaired, the secretion of gastrointestinal hormones and adrenaline may also be affected. If these imbalances are not regulated over a prolonged period, the skin may gradually darken, leading to melanin formation and eventually causing senile spots.
2. Unhealthy lifestyle habits: Many elderly individuals may have unhealthy lifestyle habits, such as smoking, alcohol consumption, or staying up late, which can significantly harm the body. Prolonged lack of adequate rest can lead to increased melanin production within the body, which can similarly result in the formation of pigmented spots.
3. Diseases: As people age, the functions of internal organs often become impaired. Some elderly individuals may suffer from chronic alcohol intoxication, which can lead to the appearance of senile spots. Additionally, chronic gastrointestinal diseases or tuberculosis can also cause the development of senile spots on the face, primarily due to incomplete breakdown and digestion of nutrients from food.
4. Ultraviolet radiation: Most elderly individuals feel cold easily, so many enjoy sitting outside in the sun on a chair when the weather is nice. However, the ultraviolet radiation in sunlight is very strong. Excessive exposure to sunlight can darken the skin progressively, and over time, this can lead to the appearance of pigmented spots.
