To reduce nasal size, surgical incisions are made; if enlarged nasal tip cartilage is the issue, excess cartilage is removed. If the enlargement is due to excessive subcutaneous fat and fibrous tissue, the procedure becomes more complex—both cartilage and underlying musculature may require adjustment. In some cases, modifications to the alae (nostrils) and nasal tip may also be necessary.
