What should be avoided in the diet for tinea cruris (jock itch)?
Disease description:
My boss is 32 years old this year. He recently contracted jock itch and has asked me to order meals for him. I would like to know which foods should be avoided for jock itch?

Patients with jock itch should avoid the following types of food to promote recovery:
1. Spicy and irritating foods: such as chili peppers, garlic, scallions, mustard, pepper, and onions. These foods may cause local vasodilation and congestion, thereby worsening symptoms of jock itch.
2. Greasy and fatty foods: such as fried dough sticks, fried chicken, and chicken legs. These foods may contribute to damp-heat, making the condition more severe.
3. Seafood: such as fish, shrimp, and crab. These foods contain numerous allergens that may intensify skin itching and hinder recovery.
4. High-sugar foods: long-term consumption of high-sugar foods such as candies, honey, and sweetened beverages may create a high-sugar environment, promoting bacterial and fungal growth and delaying recovery.
5. Pickled foods: such as pickled vegetables and preserved mustard. These foods contain high levels of salt, and long-term high-sodium diets may lead to increased skin itching and inflammation.
