How long can a person generally live with lung adenocarcinoma?
Disease description:
I have a condition of lung cancer myself, and now I have started coughing up blood. The doctor said it has transformed into lung adenocarcinoma. I would like to ask the doctor, how long can a person generally survive with lung adenocarcinoma?
The survival period for lung adenocarcinoma varies depending on multiple factors, including disease stage, treatment methods, patient age, physical condition, and genetic mutation status, among others.
1. The 5-year survival rate for early-stage lung adenocarcinoma (Stage I and II) is relatively high, reaching over 70%, with some patients even achieving clinical cure.
2. For locally advanced lung adenocarcinoma, the survival period is relatively shorter. With adequate treatment, the 5-year survival rate is above 35%, approaching 40%.
3. For advanced-stage lung adenocarcinoma (Stage IV), the survival period is short. Patients without treatment typically survive between 3 months to 0.5 years; with adequate treatment, survival can be extended to 2–3 years or even 5 years, although the 5-year survival rate does not exceed 20%.
