Acne on the scrotum and penis may be caused by several factors, including:
1. Folliculitis: This is the most common cause, resulting from bacterial infection due to poor local hygiene, moisture, or decreased immune resistance.
2. Sebaceous cyst: A cystic mass formed due to blockage of the hair follicle duct, preventing the discharge of internal substances. It is usually asymptomatic but may sometimes cause infection and pain.
3. Genital herpes: A sexually transmitted disease caused by infection of the genital and perianal skin and mucous membranes with the herpes simplex virus, which may lead to symptoms such as blisters and ulcers on the external genitalia.
