Elevated pelvic floor muscle tension, commonly referred to as pelvic floor muscle tightness or pelvic floor spasm, may present with the following symptoms:

1. Difficulty with bowel movements: A sensation of the anus being tightly "clenched," requiring straining during defecation or feeling of incomplete evacuation.

2. Frequent or urgent urination: Frequent urge to urinate, but discomfort may be experienced during urination or the urine stream may be weak.

3. Pain during sexual intercourse: Pain or discomfort during sexual activity, particularly with difficulty in penetration among women.

4. Pelvic pain: Chronic or cyclical discomfort in the lower abdomen, lower back, or perineal area.

5. Urinary symptoms: Such as painful urination, urgency, or incontinence.

6. Constipation: Due to excessive contraction of the anal sphincter, normal bowel movements may be affected.

7. Fertility issues: In women, elevated pelvic floor muscle tension may affect the process of labor and delivery or contribute to infertility.

If these symptoms occur, it is advisable to consult a doctor for evaluation.
