Symptoms of Chronic Pharyngitis
Disease description:
I had a sore throat for some time and was recently diagnosed with chronic pharyngitis after a medical examination. I would like to know what symptoms are associated with chronic pharyngitis?

Chronic pharyngitis is a long-term, recurrent inflammation of the pharynx. Its main symptoms include:
1. Sore throat: During acute episodes, the throat area becomes painful, particularly the pharynx. Pain may be triggered during eating and speaking.
2. Dry throat: Due to continuous irritation from chronic inflammation, patients often feel dryness in the throat, sometimes accompanied by a burning sensation.
3. Foreign body sensation: Patients may feel as if there is a foreign object in the throat, causing a sensation of blockage or fullness.
4. Itchy cough: Coughing is often accompanied by an itchy throat, and the itchiness triggers coughing. This type of cough is typically irritating and generally occurs without phlegm or with minimal phlegm production. Patients are often sensitive to external stimuli, such as food or taste-related triggers.
