Low progesterone levels may lead to fetal arrest, but this is not absolute.

Progesterone is one of the essential hormones for maintaining pregnancy, helping the embryo to stably implant and develop in the uterus. However, low progesterone levels can be caused by various factors, such as luteal insufficiency, endocrine disorders, and poor embryo quality. When progesterone levels are severely insufficient, the risk of threatened miscarriage and fetal arrest may increase.

The causes of fetal arrest are complex and varied, not solely related to progesterone levels, but also possibly influenced by embryonic chromosomal abnormalities, maternal immune factors, environmental factors, and others. Therefore, when low progesterone occurs, timely medical consultation is necessary to diagnose and treat based on individual circumstances, in order to best protect maternal and fetal health.
