How to differentiate periorbital flat warts from syringomas
Disease description:
I have some growths under my eyelids. I always thought they were syringomas and didn't pay much attention to them. Recently, a doctor told me they are flat warts. How can I distinguish between flat warts and syringomas around the eyes?

Differentiating between ocular flat warts and syringomas:
1. Surface morphology: The surface of flat warts is smooth and flat, while the surface of syringomas is uneven, often appearing hemispherical or as flat papules.
2. Growth rate: Flat warts grow relatively quickly, possibly developing from nothing to fully formed within a month; syringomas grow slowly, usually taking more than three months, or even several years, to develop.
3. Color: The color of flat warts may gradually darken over time, often becoming brown after one year; syringomas are usually close to the skin color, often flesh-colored, light yellow, or pale white.
4. Common locations: Although both commonly occur on the face, flat warts can appear anywhere on the face, while syringomas typically occur around the eyes, especially around both eyelids.
5. Symptoms and sensations: Flat warts may sometimes be accompanied by itching, while syringomas typically do not cause any noticeable symptoms.
