The main ways to manage heat rash in newborns include: regulating room temperature, cleansing the skin, and medical treatment. 1. Regulate room temperature: Pay attention to adjusting the indoor temperature. Air conditioning can be used, with the temperature controlled around 25-27°C. After running the air conditioner for a period of time, windows should be opened to ventilate and maintain air circulation. Fans also can be used, preferably directed toward walls. Newborns' sweat-soaked clothing should be changed promptly for breathable, loose, cotton clothing, allowing the skin to breathe and preventing worsening of the condition. 2. Cleanse the skin: Newborns should be given a warm water bath once daily. If the weather is excessively hot and sweating increases, bathing frequency can be increased to about twice daily, to maintain clean and dry skin. After bathing, gently pat the skin dry with a clean, 100% cotton towel. Avoid vigorous rubbing. 3. Medical treatment: If the heat rash is widespread, symptoms such as itching and burning may occur. Calamine lotion can be applied externally, or added into bathwater for bathing the newborn. Medication must strictly follow the guidance of a qualified physician. Do not use medications without authorization to avoid harming the newborn's skin.
