Why does my left side hurt after urinating?
I have recently experienced pain in my left side after urinating. Doctor, I would like to ask what might be causing this?

The causes of left-sided waist pain after urination include the following:
1. Urinary tract infection: Such as cystitis or pyelonephritis. These conditions are often accompanied by symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and painful urination.
2. Kidney stones: Kidney stones are a common cause, especially during urination when the movement of the stone may irritate or block the urinary tract, causing severe pain. This pain is generally intermittent, progressively worsening, and sometimes accompanied by profuse sweating, nausea, vomiting, or radiation to the lower abdomen.
3. Nephritis: Nephritis may also cause left-sided waist pain after urination, which is usually associated with low immunity, bacterial infection, or viral infection. In addition to waist pain, patients may also experience hematuria (blood in urine), edema (swelling), hypertension, generalized body aches, fever, and weight loss.
4. Other causes: Prostate problems and kidney diseases, such as renal cysts or nephritis, can also lead to similar symptoms. If the pain is accompanied by hematuria, fever, nausea, or vomiting, a comprehensive physical examination should be performed for proper diagnosis.
