What causes stomach tremors?
My uncle has always had stomach problems. Recently, his stomach has been trembling frequently, and we are very concerned. May I ask, what causes stomach trembling?
Gastric tremor, commonly refers to spasms, twitching, or trembling sensations in a patient's stomach. This phenomenon can be caused by various factors, including:
1. Indigestion: Consuming excessive amounts of food at one time or frequently eating spicy, greasy, or irritating foods may lead to indigestion and slowed gastrointestinal motility, which can result in gastric tremors.
2. Abdominal exposure to cold: Prolonged exposure of the abdomen to cold environments may trigger stomach spasms, manifesting as gastric tremors, often accompanied by a cold sensation on the abdominal skin.
3. Chronic gastritis: Chronic gastritis associated with Helicobacter pylori infection can cause chronic inflammatory damage to the gastric mucosa, leading to symptoms such as gastric tremors, burning stomach sensation, abdominal pain, and vomiting.
4. Involuntary contraction of stomach muscles: Uncontrolled contractions of the stomach muscles can cause this sensation, sometimes accompanied by symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.
If "gastric tremor" is accompanied by severe pain, persistent discomfort, weight loss, or other unusual symptoms, prompt medical attention is advised.
