How to treat scrotal scabies nodules
My friend has developed scrotal scabies nodules and has recently been experiencing frequent itching and pain. He asked me to inquire about the best way to treat scrotal scabies nodules for a quick recovery.
Scrotal scabies nodules are a skin condition caused by parasitic infestation with the scabies mite. The following points should be noted during treatment:
1. Drug therapy: Clinically used medications to kill scabies mites include crotamiton cream, sodium thiosulfate solution, etc. For severe itching, sulfur ointment or other antipruritic agents may be used. Persistent scabies nodules may require stronger topical medications, such as corticosteroid creams, to reduce inflammation and itching.
2. Personal hygiene: Regularly change clothing and bedding, and wash and dry them with hot water to kill any residual scabies mites.
3. Avoid contact infection: Scabies is a highly contagious disease; direct contact with infected individuals should be avoided, especially skin-to-skin contact.
4. Body cleanliness: Bathe daily and use mild cleansing products, keep the body dry, especially the scrotal area.
5. Surgical treatment: If the nodules are severe and drug therapy and physical therapy are ineffective, surgical excision may be considered.
6. Environmental cleaning: Regularly clean and disinfect bedding, underwear, towels, etc., to prevent reinfection.
