Dr. Cao Zhiqiang

Scrotal dampness is a common male reproductive system issue, referring to abnormal sensations on the scrotal skin surface such as excessive sweating, moisture, or coolness, although the scrotal skin itself shows no obvious organic lesions. This phenomenon may be caused by various factors:

1. Physiological causes: The scrotal area in males contains well-developed sweat glands with some capacity for contraction and expansion to regulate local temperature. When heat in the scrotal environment cannot dissipate effectively, local temperature rises, increasing sweat secretion, which can lead to scrotal dampness.

2. Clothing factors: Tight pants and synthetic fiber underwear, which are not breathable, may hinder sweat evaporation, increasing humidity in the scrotal area.

3. Obesity: Individuals who are overweight have thicker fat layers, reducing heat dissipation efficiency and making them more prone to sweating, including in the scrotal region.

4. Disease-related factors: Conditions such as chronic prostatitis, varicocele, and scrotal eczema may lead to abnormal sweat gland secretion in the scrotal area, causing scrotal dampness.
