How to Treat and Improve Adnexitis
Having been troubled by adnexitis for a long time, the physical discomfort has made me very anxious. How can adnexitis be treated and improved?
Common symptoms of adnexitis include lower abdominal pain, fever, and pain during sexual intercourse. Methods for treatment and improvement include:
1. Medication therapy: For mild cases of adnexitis, oral antibiotics such as metronidazole tablets or doxycycline hydrochloride tablets may be selected. For patients with more severe symptoms, intravenous antibiotic therapy may be required, such as cephalosporin antibiotics combined with metronidazole antibiotics.
2. Surgical treatment: If medication therapy is ineffective or complications such as abscess formation occur, laparoscopic surgery or open abdominal surgery might be required to remove the lesion. For patients of older age, those with bilateral adnexal involvement, or those experiencing frequent recurrence of adnexal abscesses, a total hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy might be considered.
3. Physical therapy: Laser therapy, microwave therapy, and infrared irradiation are suitable for patients with chronic inflammation and can promote the resolution of inflammation and tissue repair.
4. Rest and diet: Patients should rest in bed and adopt a semi-recumbent position. The diet should be high in calories, protein, and vitamins. Fatigue and exposure to cold should be avoided to prevent worsening of the condition.
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle and enhancing immunity also play a role in preventing recurrence of adnexitis.
