Is it okay to take Xindakang for a fast heart rate?
I was diagnosed with tachycardia last year. Today, my heart rate increased due to an overdose of medication. Is it okay for me to take Xin Dakang (Heart Dakang)?
Whether Xin Da Kang can be taken when the heart rate is fast needs to be determined based on specific circumstances. It is primarily used to treat symptoms such as weakness of cardiac Qi and obstruction of the heart meridian due to blood stasis. Xin Da Kang is a traditional Chinese medicine preparation, with main ingredients including hawthorn and salvia miltiorrhiza. It functions to replenish cardiac Qi, resolve stasis, promote circulation of blood vessels, remove phlegm, and invigorate the spleen.
If the tachycardia is caused by physiological reasons such as excessive fatigue, vigorous exercise, or emotional stress, Xin Da Kang usually isn't necessary; rest and regulation are sufficient. If the tachycardia is caused by hyperthyroidism, drug reactions, or other non-coronary heart disease factors, Xin Da Kang may have limited effectiveness or may not be appropriate.
In addition, if the increased heart rate results from myocardial ischemia caused by insufficient coronary artery blood supply, Xin Da Kang may be considered under a physician's guidance, as it may provide certain adjunctive therapeutic benefits.
Before taking any medication, it is recommended to first identify the exact cause of tachycardia and use medications appropriately under the guidance of a qualified physician, selecting suitable treatment methods.
