Cardiac neurosis, also known as cardiovascular neurosis or heart neurosis, is a psychosomatic disorder characterized primarily by prominent cardiovascular symptoms, such as palpitations, chest pain, chest tightness, shortness of breath, dyspnea, dizziness, insomnia, and vivid dreams, closely resembling manifestations of heart disease.

These symptoms are often closely related to emotional fluctuations; they tend to become particularly evident during episodes of anxiety, heightened tension, or increased psychological stress. Therefore, cardiac neurosis is commonly seen among individuals with psychological disorders such as anxiety and depression.

Cardiac neurosis predominantly affects young and middle-aged adults, especially those between 20 and 40 years of age, and the incidence is significantly higher among women than men, particularly prevalent among women undergoing menopause.

In treating cardiac neurosis, psychological support and counseling are typically required. Additionally, depending on the clinical presentation, physicians may prescribe medications such as anxiolytics and antidepressants to regulate the patient's neuroendocrine balance, thereby effectively alleviating symptoms.
