I went for a physical examination a while ago, and the results showed that my blood lipid levels were slightly high. The doctor prescribed some medication, but after taking it, I didn't notice a significant effect. Herba Anoectochili is not the first-line medication for lowering blood lipids. It is an orchid plant that primarily functions to clear heat and toxins, stop bleeding, cool the blood, relieve pain, and reduce swelling. It is commonly used to treat conditions such as stomach heat with hematemesis, intestinal bleeding, uterine bleeding, and traumatic bleeding. Herba Anoectochili preparations may have a certain lipid-lowering effect, but this is not its primary function, and it should be used with caution.

Lowering blood lipids mainly refers to reducing lipid components such as cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood through various methods, in order to prevent or treat cardiovascular diseases. Currently, commonly used lipid-lowering drugs in clinical practice include statins, fibrates, bile acid sequestrants, and cholesterol absorption inhibitors. These drugs act on lipid metabolism through different mechanisms to achieve the goal of lowering blood lipids.

In addition to drug therapy, lifestyle modifications are also important measures for lowering blood lipids. Patients with hyperlipidemia can also assist in lipid reduction by adjusting their diet and increasing aerobic exercise. This includes maintaining a light diet, avoiding high-fat and high-calorie foods, and engaging in aerobic activities such as jogging, brisk walking, hiking, and swimming.
