Can pulmonary heart disease be cured?
I have recently developed a relatively severe case of pulmonary heart disease, and I would like to undergo treatment through certain methods. Can pulmonary heart disease be cured?
In general, pulmonary heart disease cannot be completely cured. Pulmonary heart disease, also known as cor pulmonale, is a cardiac condition caused by long-term lung diseases (such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pulmonary fibrosis, etc.), which lead to pulmonary hypertension and subsequently affect the function of the right ventricle of the heart. Common symptoms include dyspnea, lower limb edema, and jugular vein distention. Pulmonary heart disease can be controlled and managed through the following treatment approaches:
1. For chronic hypoxemic diseases, long-term home oxygen therapy can be used, with patients requiring at least 15 hours of oxygen inhalation daily. This helps correct hypoxemia, improves quality of life and neuropsychiatric symptoms, reduces complications, and prolongs life expectancy.
2. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) treatment can also achieve good results during the remission phase of pulmonary heart disease. Methods such as spleen-strengthening and lung-benefiting, or kidney-tonifying therapies can enhance the patient's immune resistance and reduce episodes of acute exacerbation.
The treatment of pulmonary heart disease is a long-term process that requires active patient cooperation, regular follow-up examinations, and adherence to medical advice regarding lifestyle adjustments.
