How to deal with acne on the forehead
I have developed some acne on my forehead and often feel discomfort. I am worried that the condition might worsen. What should I do about acne on the forehead?
Acne on the forehead is usually caused by excessive sebum secretion from sebaceous glands, abnormal follicular keratinization, bacterial infection, and inflammatory reactions. The following measures are recommended:
1. Daily skincare: Pay attention to personal hygiene, regularly clean the forehead area, and avoid oil buildup that can clog pores. It is recommended to use gentle facial cleansers and avoid over-cleansing, which may compromise the skin barrier.
2. Lifestyle adjustments: Maintain a regular sleep schedule, aim to sleep before 11 PM each night, and ensure sufficient rest. At the same time, adjust your diet by reducing intake of oily and spicy foods, and increasing consumption of fresh vegetables and fruits.
3. Medication: If acne is severe, topical medications such as retinoic acid or antibiotics can be used under a doctor's guidance, as well as oral medications such as tetracycline or isotretinoin.
4. Professional treatment: If self-care measures prove ineffective, seek medical advice promptly. Treatments may include physical therapies, chemical peels, or laser therapy.
